Basada en una de las novelas más conocidas de Agatha Christie, narra la historia de un asesinato ocurrido durante un viaje en el legendario tren Orient Express. El famoso detective Hercules Poirot (Albert Finney) investiga para desenmascarar al asesino de entre los ilustres pasajeros. Inmejorable reparto para un film con un Oscar (mejor actriz secundaria -Ingrid Bergman-) y 6 nominaciones (guión adaptado, actor principal -Finney-, actriz secundaria, fotografía, vestuario, música drama).
